Our Beagles are very outgoing, mischievous, and loving all rolled into one package. They are born in our home, getting used to household noises and our cats etc. Puppies go to their new homes with the dewclaws removed, two dewormings, first set of shots, tattoos and a health record.

I recommend puppy kindergarten classes and a follow- up class. You need a good solid fence, at least 5 ft. high, and they need to be part of your family, going for walks, hikes, camping and car rides. The beagle is great with children, and they hate to be ignored. The beagle must be on a schedule, they function much better if everything is planned the same every day. Don't let the cute little face fool you into believing that the new shoe you just bought was okay to chew, keep a straight face, and make sure that you have a basket full of toys for the beagle to play with. All in all, they are a great breed, they love to have fun and to be loved.
